  • To Do List

    So, I am putting together a list of things I'd like to do in my lifetime. The number to the right of each represents the likelihood of completion (1) this year, (2) in the next few years, (3) within ten years, (4) outside of a decade, or (5) likely never. Completed tasks will have 1-4 stars indicating coolness factor.*

    3. Write a book (3)
    4. Scuba the Great Barrier Reef (4)
    5. Camp in the Grand Canyon (2)

  • Tour of my Gym

    I forgot my breakfast banana this morning.

    Yesterday, I received a custom built tour of my gym. BigOT showed me around and helped narrow down my focus for strength training over the next few months.

    In addition to cardio, which will include running and biking, and speed intervals, my workouts are designed to prep me for OCS. For me, this means a lot of arms, core, and upper body. My naturally light(er) build coupled with years of avoiding strength training has left me lagging far behind what I want for myself. Hopefully I can catch up.

    Here are the excercises I will be working on:

    1. Core (planks, crunches, etc.)
    2. Squats and lunges
    3. Pushups and pullups
    4. Lat Pulls
    5. Rows
    6. Curls and bench

    All I am going to say, is watch yo'self.

    On another note, I am looking forward to group core and abs classes tonight. Surprisingly, I am a little stiff from spin class yesterday.

  • Three Keys to Success

    I had the good fortune of seeing BigOT and RavnR this weekend. Here is the lesson I learned from RavnR:

    1. Pay attention and let people know it;
    2. Toot your own horn;
    3. Make a move.

    I am exercising steps 1 and 2, and everything seems to be working. She may be onto something. Thanks.
